Raising an island

The daemon

island.sh writes and starts a Docker compose with four services: storefront (serves the manifest and the goods), gate (checks the x402 header the gateway forwards), probe (signs answers to the probes' challenges with the island's probe key) and runner (Ollama, a Whisper worker or a file server, depending on the stock).

curl -fsSL https://gpuislands.com/sdk/island.sh -o island.sh
bash island.sh init --name my-island --stock gpu --price 0.006
bash island.sh up
bash island.sh status

The island dials out to the gateway through a tunnel, so no inbound port is opened and the host's address is never published.

Bond and register

Registration is one call, Islands.raise(stock, uri, licence), which pulls the 20,000 $GPU bond. From the Raise page, sign in, and if the account holds the bond but no ETH, the site sends it enough gas for the approval and the registration.

Leaving

startUnbond(id) takes the island off the market and out of its continent. Seven days later withdraw(id) returns the bond. Dark hours during those seven days are still slashed.
